520 ## - SUMMARY, ETC.
Summary, etc. The study of culture in psychology has a distinguished history and has progressed in many important ways, but also has some limitations. We know much about east-west differences in self-construal and cognitive style, for example, yet we know very little about the multitude of cultural influences that shape who we are and are shaped by who we are. This book brings readers from all fields of psychology up to date on the newest and most exciting avenues in the study of culture in psychology by focusing on different forms of culture. The book will encourage psychologists to think about a wider set of cultures than they traditionally have, such as knowledge, social class, age, politics, sex and gender, religion, within-country regions and frontiers. It also points readers to consider processes that give shape to culture, such as settlement patterns and evolution.
