The protagonist of Trueba's Truffaut-inspired comedy is Matias, a loquacious young man in his mid-twenties, who lives in Madrid and works unenthusiastically as a journalist. Distracting him from his literary designs, is the stormy affair he is having with his beautiful cousin, Violette.
